Laura Southall offers complete financial planning for individual's and family's unique financial situations in order to give them the best plan for their future. She has a passion for helping her clients reach their goals, and she is with them every step of the way in doing so.
As a child, Laura ran multiple small businesses and spent her free time at the library reading books about money and real-estate. At the age of 15, she started saving for a down payment on a rental property and at 23 she bought her first house and rented out the basement to cover the mortgage. Over the next 20+ years, she has bought and sold many rental properties, and developed a passion for investing and financial education.
Laura regularly gives seminars for many organizations, like the Kingston Frontenac Public Library and the Limestone District School Board, to raise the community’s financial literacy. She has also authored a book, “Rental Properties for Canadian Women” (2020), which helps Canadian women on their journey to financial security.
Laura’s passion for financial education, however, lies primarily with her clients. She believes that the better she understands her clients' wants and needs, the better she can help to formulate a plan to reach those goals. Whether you are planning for your child’s education, preparing for retirement, or concerned about transitioning your wealth to the next generation, Laura and her team will bring you peace of mind while helping you achieve your goals.
A graduate of Queen’s university and a holder of the Certified Financial Planning (CFP) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designations, Laura is always looking for opportunities for further education.
On a personal level, Laura has three teenage children and enjoys paddleboarding and triathlons.
