Since 1997, Alex has been dedicated to helping families achieve financial independence through a more personalized, informed approach to financial planning. His goal is to earn the confidence and trust of his clients by offering the highest degree of integrity and professionalism, while committing himself to the best interests of his clients.

 He has specialized in retirement, investment, and tax planning for Sobeys employees since 2000 when he began offering retirement information sessions at Sobeys National & Regional offices in Stellarton. As a result of the Sobeys employees’ high level of interest in retirement planning, Alex has developed a customized program to retire Sobeys employees as they transition from pay cheque to pension cheque.

Alex has earned the Certified Financial Planner designation, recognized internationally as one of the top professional accreditations. He is also among the advisors in Canada who have attained a mastery level knowledge of wealth management strategies and has been certified as a Financial Management Advisor.

Alex A. Skoke first joined Assante in 2008 in an administrative role that inspired him to continue his education the following year at St. Mary’s University.

There, he decided that business was the best fit for him. The business mindset keeps him on top of local and global trends, allowing him to cultivate his passion for helping others grow and succeed in their lives. The potential to use these skills to help others become more financially independent is what brought Alexander here.

Hailing from Stellarton, Nova Scotia, Alex sampled cities across the country, as far as Courtenay, BC, and Whitehorse, YK, before deciding that this is where he wants to be.

His greatest professional attribute is his ability to adapt and learn new information. In a world that’s changing rapidly, his early adoption of the newest products and technology gives him the ability to offer a more efficient process with the most up-to-date products.

What Alex loves most about his job is the opportunity to build relationships with clients and support the complete planning process so they can become financially independent and spend more time doing what they love.

When he’s not at work, you can find Alex soaking up nature in one form or another. His great passion is playing golf. As a kid he accepted a challenge: Play so much golf that you get sick of it. He hasn’t come close yet, but it’s a challenge that he continues to be very happy to test!

Denise Martin has worked in financial services since 2004, joining Assante Capital Management Ltd. in 2014.

 She has always loved working with people, building solid relationships with busy clients and helping them understand the importance of saving, financial planning, budgeting and, eventually, planning for retirement.

Continued education is a passion for Denise. She loves learning new things and the satisfaction that comes with that.

She also loves adventure. Whether she’s in her truck or on her motorbike, she’s probably heading to a beach, zip-lining, camping or staying balanced by practicing yoga and gratitude with her face turned toward the sun or moon.

Her mantra is that sometimes you don’t get a second chance, so try the new thing, take the chance, be positive and happy every day — scare yourself a little or you will never know how brave you are!

Denise supports the Canadian Red Cross and is very proud to be approaching her 50th blood donation, but her proudest accomplishment? Her beautiful daughter, Jillian.
