Bert graduated in 1983 from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Science in Geology and worked as a geologist until 1992, when he became a personal financial advisor. Since then he has taken numerous industry courses and has attained the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation, the pre-eminent accreditation for financial planners. Bert is licensed for securities in Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario, and for life insurance and disability insurance in Alberta.
