Jerry Brown, CFP, PRP

Financial Advisor

I have completed the Canadian Securities Course, the Professional Financial Planning Course (PFP), and am a recognized Certified Financial Planner Professional. A CFP designation is essential for financial planning today.

My EPC designation, “Elder Planning Counselor,” is critical for Retirement Transitional Planning. Having completed this in-depth educational program helps me to recognize the needs and services of the aging and the elderly. This knowledge is essential in assisting you to work with aging parents and key to helping you visualize your own life changes in your later life.

In 2009 I was recognized with the PRP (Professional Retirement Planner) designation from the Retirement Planning Association of Canada. Unlike other professional designations available to financial planners, the PRP demonstrates a specialization to the holistic or life approach to retirement planning. At that time I was only the 60th advisor in Canada to achieve this designation.

“But my most valuable education is a result of my many years of working with men and women, as they plan for and carry through, their transition to Today’s New Retirement. This accumulated experience cannot be found in any course or book, and is of critical value in helping you complete your successful retirement transition.”

As an Assante advisor, I am positioned to be your key resource to oversee all aspects of your financial affairs, and can work with you to provide a customized wealth management plan. But I am not alone in this effort. I have access to a wide range of Assante professionals who are experts in their field — investment analysis, portfolio managers, lawyers, accountants, estate and insurance specialists, wealth planners, banking and mortgage specialists. I can draw on these resources as needed in tailoring personalized solutions for you and your family.

I am an active member of the Financial Planners Standards Council (FPSC), and the Canadian Initiative for Elder Planning Studies (CIEPS). I also serve as Past President on the executive committee of the Abbotsford Estate Planning Association and am Past President of my residential Strata Council. My wife Sandy and I live in Abbotsford BC and have four adult children and four grandchildren. In 2016 I received an award for 15 years of volunteering for the BC Transplant Society. (I was blessed with a successful kidney transplant in 1998.)
