Senior Financial Planner

For over 15 years, Joan Cosby has been assisting individuals, families and business owners achieve a successful balance between their financial goals and philanthropic intentions. With a strong background in Canadian tax law, Joan helps to develop strategic financial and estate plans that include tax efficiencies, efficient wealth transfer and effective charitable giving strategies.

 

Planning for and dealing with major life events are challenging when they touch you and your family.  Joan does not shy away from those tough issues when discussing family wealth. Working collaboratively with other professionals she provides individuals, families and business owners with avenues to realize their investment goals. 

 

Joan is an active member of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners and sits on the board of directors for the Nelson Youth Centres.  She cherishes spending time with her grandchildren; Lucy, 6 and Joel, 4. In addition, Joan supports local community theatre especially the developing artists involved in the Hamilton Fringe Festival and visual artists through her involvement in the Art in Action program in Burlington.  As a member of the Royal Botanical Gardens, Joan also enjoys hiking in many of the beautiful green spaces it has to offer.

Administrative Associate

Joanne works with Joan on client service and meeting matters. In addition, Joanne leads the team in preparation and delivery of many client education initiatives on important topics concerning the changing Canadian financial landscape.

Joanne actively participates in the local Niagara Golden Horseshoe chapter of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners. In addition, she has been a member of the Midday Marrauders Toastmasters club for the past 12 years where she enjoys practicing her communication skills. Having lived in China for 3 years, Joanne has travelled extensively in Asia with her now unversity aged daughter.
