As team captain of the University of Ottawa’s 1975 National Championship team, Ken has continued to demonstrate his leadership in both the football and business communities, developing many cherished and long-lasting relationships. Discipline, resilience and a strong work ethic are instilled in Ken and diligently applied daily for his clients and he draws great satisfaction from providing the highest level of service. Dan Slattery, CPA, CA
Dan is an expert in the specific requirements and tax considerations of advanced estate planning strategies and corporate asset extraction strategies. He began his professional career with KPMG LLP, where he worked as a tax professional from 1988 to 1996. In 1996, Dan made moved Metropolitan Life as their manager of advanced markets, helping to develop advanced tax planning strategies that made use of the unique tax characteristics of life insurance products. Two years later, Dan was given the opportunity to become part of the Tax and Estate Planning team at London Life/Great West Life where he stayed until joining Kenmar Financial in 2017.
Dan graduated from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree, and then obtained a graduate diploma in public accountancy from McGill. He is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada, the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario and the Canadian Tax Foundation and a past member of the Conference for Advanced Life Underwriting (CALU) and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
