Our Team

Peter graduated from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor of Commerce in 1992.  Prior to becoming an Advisor, he worked in various roles in the Financial Services sector in both Ontario and the Atlantic Provinces.  In 2002, Peter became a Wealth Advisor and Branch Manager for Assante Financial Management Ltd. and maintains clients in various provinces including Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Ontario. Peter is a Certified Financial Planner professional and is a licensed Insurance Advisor.  Peter has lived in Halifax since 1999, is married to his wife Teresa and has two daughters in High School and University.  In his spare time, he volunteers his financial and leadership experience with various clubs and committees, he has run a few marathons and continues to be active in running, hockey and golf.

As an advisor focusing on financial, tax, estate and insurance strategies for over 18 years, Peter works closely with families, business owners and professionals, providing ongoing advice that is specific to their personal or business needs and desired outcomes.

Peter collaborates with his client's other professionals (accountants, lawyers) or can use the professional services and resources available through Assante Wealth Management and his network of contacts.

Teresa comes to Assante Financial Management Ltd. with 19 years of sales and marketing experience in the IT industry, the last 12 years as Partner Account Manager serving businesses in Atlantic Canada and the Prairies.  Deciding to partner in their family business, Teresa has worked in our office with Peter Orser, Advisor, for 8 years now.

She grew up in Port Williams, NS, received her undergrad and business certificate from Acadia University and started her career in Toronto, Ontario where she lived for 6 years. Upon meeting Peter in Toronto, they both had the opportunity through work to move to Halifax and began to settle their life in Nova Scotia together.  Proud mom of 2 teenage girls in University and High School, she volunteers in various community outreach programs and school committees and in her spare time enjoys running, golf, music and reading.

Teresa works to ensure client processing runs smoothly and efficiently. She is also responsible for scheduling, marketing and client communication.
