How Your Advisor is Paid
Assante is paid ongoing service fees, also known as trailer fees, based on the investment assets I oversee. A portion of these fees is paid to me from which I pay for my office expenses including the salary of my assistant.
These fees are included in the management expense ratio (MER) that all investment fund clients pay to an investment management company. MER costs tend to be competitive throughout the banking and financial services industry and are disclosed in the Fund Facts documents.
