James N. Nushis has been a Financial Planner for his clients since November, 1997. For more than 29 years James has been helping individuals, families and business owners build stronger financial futures. His approach is grounded in experience, integrity, and a commitment to understand each client’s goals.
James’s education began with a Bachelor’s of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto in 1988, where he earned his degree specializing in Accounting, Finance and Economics. James would go on to graduate with distinction, and was noted for his exceptional leadership skills demonstrated throughout his academic career.
James started his career at Grant Thornton Chartered Accountants where he became a Chartered Accountant (CA)/ Chartered Professional Accountant CPA in 1991 and opened his public accounting business in 1991-1996/97. Following this James has been working as a Financial Advisor since 1997 and expanded his expertise into financial, planning and became a Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
James also completes personal and corporate Canadian income tax returns, accounting services, and consulting through his separate and independent tax preparation service company, James N. Nushis CFP, CPA, CA which he started in 1991.
James joined Assante Capital Management Ltd. in 2009, continuing his professional career in Financial Advisory career he began in 1997.
James N. Nushis holds professional designations in Accounting, Finance, and Insurance. James in addition is licensed in Securities and Life Insurance. James feels strongly about client protection, where he annually attends conferences on professional development. James attributes his success to his focus on his client’s goals.
James and his wife are the proud parents of 3 children Alexandra, Anastasia, and Evan. All three of his children have gone on to have successful careers after studying at York University in Toronto. Alexandra is teaching Science and Biology as a secondary school teacher with the TDSB, she is passionate about teaching and has her Masters of Education from Queens University. Anastasia currently is completing her Certified Professional Accounting (CPA) with PricewaterhouseCoopers CPA/CA and working as Auditor/Accountant specializing in financial services. Evan is pursuing a career in Engineering, where he graduated as a Civil Engineering and passionate in building an environmentally sustainable future. James is well known in his Toronto community, often volunteering in local hockey arenas, soccer/baseball fields in the summer. In his spare time James enjoys spending time with his family at his cottage..
