My name is Alain Savard. I am a husband, father, step-father, mechanical engineer, business owner, former naval officer, and investment advisor.

Every investor is different, just like every advisor is different.

As a client, I would be an advisor’s worst nightmare. Because I am very high maintenance. I watch the markets and physically record the value of my investment portfolio every single day. Why? Because I need to know. This is who I am. I was born this way and I will die this way. I know it. And I assume it.

I am intense, passionate, organized and extremely disciplined. Keeping on top of things provides me with peace of mind. I am a perfectionnist who likes to go the extra mile. And this, is exactly why I became an investment advisor.    

Although you may never want to be married to someone like me (god help my wife), do you see any downside to having such an individual look after your financial affairs?

I record the value of my clients’ portfolio every day (just like I do mine). I keep them posted on what is happening in the markets through a weekly email. And I personally contact them when things are not going our way – just to make sure that they are doing alright.

As an Assante advisor, I offer the same services as my 800 or so colleagues across the country. But this hands-on approach is what makes me different.
