It's very difficult to choose a financial advisor, initially, some advisors will promise you the moon but unless they have a crystal ball, it's impossible. So I was skeptical at first when the people at Assante simply suggested that we review our portfolios.
Although I didn't see my former advisor very often, I believed he did his job well. We think and believe that if we own several mutual funds that we have a diversified portfolio and are isolated from market problems. After the analysis by Georges and his team, the funds that we held and which I believed to be diversified overlapped and were very redundant.
