A Senior Financial Planning Advisor with Assante Capital Management Ltd. since 2000, David A. Poeta, B. Comm (Concordia University) and a CFP professional since 2010 has fostered literally hundreds of solid relationships built on this very foundation of uncompromising ethics.

Dave’s goal is to “simplify and enhance" his clients' lives. Surrounded by a solid platform of experts, he prides himself on offering financial planning and service excellence to his clients and their families. Dave believes that every client is unique and he develops sincere relationships by working with each of them one-on-one to create tailored programs to accomplish stated financial objectives.

Steve specializes in helping business owners, professionals, and their families navigate and simplify the complexities of insurance and estate planning -- focusing on integrated wealth planning, designed to align with each client’s unique goals and values.

He brings experience with tax-efficient investment strategies, capital preservation, executive compensation, special risk insurance, employee benefits, business succession, estate equalization, and philanthropic planning. Whether you’re building your legacy or protecting what you’ve built, Steve provides guidance that is strategic, personalized, and forward-thinking.

Outside the office, you’ll often find him enjoying time at the lake in Sudbury, Ontario with his wife Marianne, their son Col, his family and friends. A lifelong lover of hockey, Steve stays active in the sport as an Ontario Hockey League scout for the London Knights.

In April 2024, Brett graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor’s degree in Management and Organizational Studies, specializing in Finance. While attending Western, he also spent two summers working at Assante. Before university, he played several years of hockey in the Ontario Hockey League for the Soo Greyhounds and Sudbury Wolves and continued playing for Western’s Men’s Hockey Team. Growing up in Sudbury, Brett always envisioned returning to his roots after completing his studies and hockey career. As of May 2024, Brett joined the Assante team as an Associate Financial Advisor and is eager to learn from mentors Dave Poeta and Steve Warner. He hopes to follow their example of prioritizing the client-advisor relationship and helping clients achieve their financial goals. Outside of work, you can find Brett staying active through CrossFit, golfing, or still on the ice.

Kerry joined Assante in February 2005 as an Administrative Associate for Dave Poeta.  Over the years, she has provided excellent customer service while building strong business relationships with Dave and Steve’s clients.  Kerry’s role is to ensure all administrative business is processed correctly and efficiently, and to assist with client queries.  Her professional service has become a valuable and integral part of Dave and Steve’s practice.

Kerry also devotes her time to community service as a volunteer with Meals on Wheels and as a big sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Sudbury.

She enjoys spending time with her family and playing sports.  She lives in Sudbury with her husband, Dave Poeta.

Kathryn (Katie) joined the Poeta Warner Wealth Management Group in 2016. She works closely with Kerry, Dave and Steve to ensure client processing runs smoothly and efficiently. She is also responsible for marketing, client communication and scheduling.
