On April 28, 2016, Tina Tehranchian, branch manager and senior financial planner at Assante Capital Management Ltd., won two awards at the second annual awards gala held by the Business Women’s Network of York Region (BWNYR) at the Manor in Aurora. Her awards were in the categories of “Community Engagement and Philanthropy” and “Literacy”.
The BWNYR’s second annual awards gala honoured several York Region business women with awards in different categories, including start-up, innovator, marketing, customer service, community engagement and philanthropy, health and wellness, literacy, small business owner, young entrepreneur, professional, mentorship, and networking awards.
“I am thrilled to win these two awards, and thank the Business Women’s Network of York Region for honouring me and for holding this impressive awards gala to recognize outstanding businesswomen in York Region”, said Tina Tehranchian when asked about the awards that she received. “While I have been promoting financial literacy in different ways and have been involved in my community and raised funds for the causes I truly care for over the years,” she added, “I never expected to receive an award for something I am really passionate about, which makes these awards even more special for me”.
The gala was well-attended by members and guests as well as a number of dignitaries, including Francesco Sorbara, MP (Vaughan – Woodbridge), Deb Schulte, MP (King-Vaughan), Dr. Helena Jaczek, MPP (Oakridges, Markham), and Mayor Geoffrey Dawe (mayor of Town of Aurora), among many others.
About Tina Tehranchian – Tina Tehranchian, MA, CFP, CLU, CHFC is a senior financial planner and branch manager at Assante Capital Management Ltd. in Richmond Hill. Tina is a FELLOW of FPSCTM and is widely featured in the national media as a financial planning expert based on her experience in this field since 1991.
She established her office in Richmond Hill in 1996 and has been an active member of the York Region community ever since.
Tina has served as a director of the Markham Board of Trade and JVS of Greater Toronto, the treasurer of the Encyclopaedia Iranica Foundation, a governor of Seneca College, a trustee of the McMichael Canadian Art Collection, a director of Mackenzie Health Foundation (formerly York Central Hospital Foundation) and Fort York Foundation, chair of the board of IC Network, chair of the governance and nominating committee of the McMichael Canadian Art Collection, a member of the Planned Giving Advisory Committee of the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation and the governance and nominating committee of Mackenzie Health Foundation.
About the Business Women’s Network of York Region – The Business Women’s Network of York Region was created in 2014 by a group of women entrepreneurs as an organization for businesswomen to connect through networking. It provides a way for businesswomen to share challenges and successes and help others through mentorship programs, as well as serve one another in York Region.
