On March 22, 2021, CI Assante Wealth Management (“Assante”) congratulates Tina Tehranchian, Senior Wealth Advisor in Richmond Hill, Ontario, on being named Senior Wealth Advisor of the Decade for 2021 by the International Association of Top Professionals (“IAOTP”). She is the first woman and the first Canadian to receive this honour.

A financial advisor since 1991, Ms. Tehranchian specializes in assisting business owners and self-employed professionals grow their wealth and develop sound financial and estate plans. She is also an expert in devising charitable tax planning strategies and helping philanthropic Canadians multiply their bequests to charities while reducing their taxes and leaving greater inheritances for their beneficiaries.

Ms. Tehranchian lends her time and expertise to supporting the community, serving as Planned Giving Consultant for The Donor Motivation Program, as a member of the Fundraising Advisory Board of The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation and as chair of the ONE LIFE gala committee, a fundraiser in support of the Foundation. Since 2000, she has helped raise over $2 million for various charities and has served on the boards of The McMichael Canadian Art Collection, the Mackenzie Health Foundation, the Fort York Foundation, Seneca College, Art Canada Institute, and the Encyclopaedia Iranica Foundation, among others. TINA TEHRANCHIAN RECEIVES AN AWARD FROM THE BRILLIANT MINDED WOMEN FOUNDATION

 On November 17, 2017, in an elaborate fundraising gala organized by The Brilliant Minded Women Foundation, at Riviera Parc banquet hall in Concord, Tina Tehranchian, received an award for supporting the arts.

Other award winners in 2017 included, Honorable Dr. Jean Augustine, PC, CM, CBE
(Life Time Achievement Award), Tracey Moore (Best Community Service Award), and Fran Rider (Global Excellence Award).

The Brilliant Minded Women Foundation is a nonprofit organization whose primary focus is to advance post-secondary education by providing publicly available scholarships and bursaries to female students throughout Canada. In addition, the foundation provides coaching and mentorship to the selected students that receive our assistance.

The scholarship program is designed to assist and recognize the achievements of women that are making a difference in their communities. These individuals have displayed a personal drive to pursue academic excellence, leadership and/or entrepreneurship.

Tina Tehranchian received the City of Vaughan's Volunteer Recognition Award on April 27, 2017 for her volunteer work with the McMichael Canadian Art Collection since 2010. Tina has served on the Board of Trustees, as Chair of the Governance and Nominating Committee, and Founding Chair of the annual Moonlight Gala fundraiser which has resulted in becoming the highest revenue generating event in McMichael's history. On December 2nd, 2016, The Iranian Canadian Congress presented the first annual Simorgh Gala to celebrate the contributions of the Iranian Canadian community to Canada's multicultural society and recognize the hard work and dedication of our community leaders, the movers, and shakers, those who have passionately worked for many years to improve the lives of their fellow community members and helped to enrich the quality of life and culture of the community at large.

Tina Tehranchian was among the first group of seven community leaders, who received the Simorgh Award. Other recipients of this distinction were Soheil Parsa (a Dora Award winning director, writer, dramaturg, choreographer, teacher and recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal), Houshang Shans (philanthropist and partner of a successful investment company which helps incubate start-ups in Toronto), Ahmad Tabrizi (president and founder of Parya Trillium Foundation, the first Iranian Community Centre in Canada, and recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal), Yasamin Dadashi (executive director of Omid Foundation Canada), Shadi Mousavi Nia (youth advocate and member of the Premier's council on Youth Opportunities), and Morvarid Zare Zadeh (president of the Iranian Students Association at York University).

Several dignitaries from the three levels of government (federal, provincial and municipal) and from different Canadian political parties were present at this gala, including Andrea Horvath (leader of Ontario's NDP), Majid Jowhari (MP, Richmond Hill), Ali Ehsassi (MP, Willowdale), Gila Martow (MPP, Thornhill), Jagmeet Singh (MPP, Bramalea-Gore-Malton), Godwin Chan (Councillor, Town of Richmond Hill), Karen Cilevitz (Councillor, Town of Richmond Hill), Vito Spatafora (Deputy Mayor, Town of Richmond Hill).

Simorgh is an ancient bird of Persian mythology that symbolizes many qualities. Although the stories of this bird are both symbolic and profound, the message is simple: unity and love. As the 12th century Persian poet and theoretician of Sufism, Attar of Nishapur, beautifully explains in "The Conference of the Birds", it was the solidarity among the birds that gave them the courage to survive and find their way.

On April 28, 2016, Tina Tehranchian, branch manager and senior financial planner at Assante Capital Management Ltd., won two awards at the second annual awards gala held by the Business Women’s Network of York Region (BWNYR) at the Manor in Aurora. Her awards were in the categories of “Community Engagement and Philanthropy” and “Literacy”.

The BWNYR’s second annual awards gala honoured several York Region business women with awards in different categories, including start-up, innovator, marketing, customer service, community engagement and philanthropy, health and wellness, literacy, small business owner, young entrepreneur, professional, mentorship, and networking awards.

“I am thrilled to win these two awards, and thank the Business Women’s Network of York Region for honouring me and for holding this impressive awards gala to recognize outstanding businesswomen in York Region”, said Tina Tehranchian when asked about the awards that she received. “While I have been promoting financial literacy in different ways and have been involved in my community and raised funds for the causes I truly care for over the years,” she added, “I never expected to receive an award for something I am really passionate about, which makes these awards even more special for me”.

The gala was well-attended by members and guests as well as a number of dignitaries, including Francesco Sorbara, MP (Vaughan – Woodbridge), Deb Schulte, MP (King-Vaughan), Dr. Helena Jaczek, MPP (Oakridges, Markham), and Mayor Geoffrey Dawe (mayor of Town of Aurora), among many others.
